I'm a multimedia journalist, writer & photographer in Manhattan.
While studying English at Seattle University, I stumbled upon the university newspaper, The Spectator, and fell in love with the electric hustle-and-bustle of the newsroom. I had a hand in writing, photography, and editing throughout my 4 years and became a multi-faceted member of the team.
Fast forward to today, I am settling into life in New York City and ready to get the ball rolling! As a self-proclaimed word nerd and social butterfly, I am pursuing opportunities to explore new writing forms and connect with fellow movers and shakers in the creative community.
When I’m not running from one thing to the next, I enjoy escaping into music and books, traveling to new lands near and far, wandering with my camera, and indulging in delectable dishes and even better conversations.
Specialities
Storytelling
I have always loved reading and getting lost in stories, whether they be fictitious or someone's own life story. I have experience covering hyper-local stories and investigative pieces on environmental news, race, and gender; however, I am most enthusiastic about lifestyle and culture journalism, such as food reviews, events in Arts & Entertainment, and the goings-on of the city. In my approach to whatever subject is at hand, I especially focus on the people and voices of the stories, emphasizing on character-based storytelling.
Photography
“A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.” – Annie Leibovitz
I enjoy capturing moments and memories, everything from event coverage, visual article accompaniments, professional headshots, and personal photoshoots.
Food Reporting
I am a big foodie! I love trying the hottest new recipes, sipping various cocktails and libations, and of course, eating my way throughout New York. When covering such culinary encounters, I write about the food itself as well as the humans that share their passion, experiences, and stories through their food. Want to know why they chose this ingredient or what their inspiration was for that dish or that plate? I'm on it!

Making a Mark: The Evolution of Seattle’s Tattoo Culture
Coming from the Tahitian word, tatau, which means “to strike,” tattoos have emerged, evolved, and expanded from earlier forms to become the masterpieces and works of art we see in contemporary cultures today. In Seattle, the birthplace of grunge and home to many who refuse to follow the crowd, tattoo culture is long embedded in the city's history.

Ramen Ratings: Battle of the Bowls
As the weather gets colder and you get the hankering for warm noodle soup, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how many ramen shops are just a stone’s throw away from Capitol Hill and the International District. Nothing warms the soul and dispels the Seattle freeze like a steaming bowl of this Japanese comfort dish. Hop over to the newly- opened Momosan or any of my other favorites in Capitol Hill.
